Dr. T. Mark Johnson
Dr. Johnson is a surgeon and vitreoretinal specialist at The National Retina Institute. He came to NRI from the Kellogg Eye Center of the University of Michigan. Dr. Johnson is a specialist in the diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, complex retinal detachments, ocular trauma, ocular infections and inflammations.
Dr. Johnson was a co-editor of Evidence Based Eye Care. This textbook reviews important principles of the study of many major eye disorders.
Dr. Johnson has received recognition from the Canadian government, the Toronto Eye Foundation, the University of Ottawa and the Kellogg Eye Center.
Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, and he received residency training in ophthalmology from the University of Ottawa in Ontario. He then undertook a fellowship program in vitreoretinal surgery at the Kellogg Eye Center.
He is board certified in ophthalmology in the United States and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Canada.
